| Bachelor of Science in Nursing The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Sanford-Brown College, St. Peters (SBC) is designed to provide registered nurses with additional academic training and education in the science and principles of nursing. The curriculum, which includes coursework in nursing science, research, and leadership, is designed to prepare graduates to continue to work as registered nurses -- at a more advanced level -- in a variety of healthcare settings or to take professional roles away from the bedside. At the completion of the program, graduates who have diligently attended class, studied, and practiced their skills should have enhanced employment opportunities as registered nurses. An additional form of accreditation that a school may undertake to obtain is a specific, individual accreditation of certain programs (programmatic accreditation). Institutional accreditation is not the same as or a substitution for programmatic accreditation. Although programmatic accreditation is not required for employment in many cases, the existence of programmatic accreditation is a further indication that a program meets the standards of the profession, and may therefore indirectly enhance employment opportunities. Also, in some cases, programmatic accreditation will allow the graduates of the accredited program to sit for some credentialing exams immediately upon graduation without any requirement of work experience. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is not programmatically accredited. MISSOURI BOARD OF NURSING AND STATE LICENSURE DISCLOSURE Graduation from a nursing program approved by the Missouri Board of Nursing is required to apply for state licensure and sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). However, state licensure requirements are not controlled by SBC but by the individual states and are subject to change without notice to SBC. SBC cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible for licensure in Missouri, at all or at any specific time, regardless of their eligibility status upon enrollment. The 15-month Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is a 2+2 program and assumes that all associate-level requirements have been met through an associate degree or the equivalent These are the Schools Offering the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program: Questions?
